Experiments, Labs, Activities & Kits

 

Make an edible plant cell:
Supplies:

  • Disposable clear plastic container - for the cell wall
  • Lime Jell-O for the cell cytoplasm
  • Slice of banana for the nucleus
  • Raisins or other food items for the cell organelles

Fill the container with lime Jell-O and plop in the banana and raisins. Let it set and then eat and enjoy!

 

Make vascular stem cookies

Supplies: sugar cookie dough, food coloring

Supplies:
Celery • A tall glass of water • Food coloring (red or blue would be best) • Knife • A pin, or knife tip, or scissor tip, to help remove xylem tubes  • optional: magnifier
