I Couldn’t Love You More is a beautiful keepsake with the message that God loves you more than anyone. The words are based on the lyrics from the song written by Matt Hamitt after his experience with his son who was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. “I couldn’t love you more than anyone, but someone does….Jesus…..”
Click play on the video below to hear the song. I’m not a fan of the music but I adore the book. For those of you who DO like the song, I could see a parent reading the book and then listening to the song afterwards each time. It would make a nice bedtime ritual.
This book is absolutely beautiful (ah yes, I said that at the beginning of the review but I just have to say it again!). It’s fairly large and measures about 10×9 inches with a hard cover and dust-jacket (we take those off our books as they drive us nuts!). Each 2 page spread is one illustration with vibrant colors and adorable animals in a variety of scenes – both outdoor and indoor. The text is on one of the 2 pages and is a couple of lines per spread from Matt’s song lyrics. Here’s an example of 2 page spreads from the beginning of the book:
The pictures here on my blog just don’t do the book justice. The little screenshots look almost cartoony and “flat” but that’s not how they look in real life. They truly are beautiful (O.K. I’ll stop saying that now, lol ). Each page is glossy and the artwork is large enough where you can see individual brushstrokes. The colors are just luscious and pop off the page and each picture is so sweet. You can almost feel the love it’s intended to convey oozing off the pages. 😉 I love the picture of the bunny family cuddling their bunny child as well as the duckling blowing bubbles across a grassy yard.
This one of the piglet and spring blossoms (click here) is from the I Couldn’t Love You More book and featured on the illustrator Polona Lovsin’s gallery (the illustration doesn’t show the book text that was added to the upper left hand side).
I don’t have a little one anymore but am tucking away my copy for future grandchildren. This is a book you’ll want to read to your baby and toddler and then leave on the shelf as a keepsake for when they are older. The pictures are so cute I’d even consider buying a copy and framing them for a nursery or playroom wall.
If you are looking for a gift (think baby shower, little niece or nephew, etc.) or if you would like a comforting, sweet read for your child or just want to cut the pages out for super cute pictures to frame on a child’s wall, I think this title is worth consideration.
Now for the giveaway! If you’d like a certificate you can take in to a local Christian book store for a FREE copy of I Couldn’t Love You More send me an email: guesthollow (at sign) memorableplaces.com. I’m going to randomly choose from the emails I receive using http://www.randomnumbergenerator.com/. I’ll then pop the winner’s certificate in the mail next week. If you don’t have a local Christian book store, or if your store doesn’t carry this title, you can get the book directly from Tyndale by sending your certificate to them. If for some reason I don’t get any entries this weekend, I’ll extend the giveaway. I’ll post an update here at the end of this post so you can know if I’ve given away a copy of the certificate yet or not.
UPDATE: I have a winner! Congratulations Elena!
