One thing I love about where we live is that we have 4 defined seasons, but their moods are wonderfully unpredictable. One year we had our first snow in September, but this year we didn’t get any until just the other day. Here are a couple recent pictures of our winter wonderland!

Charles crafted the Jennberry Trail sign to mark one of the paths he cut through our forest, curving between tree trunks and pockets of light. Thimbleberries and saskatoons line the shadows and the bright little clearings, and every summer I wander through to pick whatever ripens. It seemed only right to name the trail after that simple joy!

It’s kind of ironic as we were pulling out of the driveway on Thanksgiving morning to visit my parents that a flock of turkeys was wandering around near this very spot. 🤣
Just as quickly as the snow arrived, it melted away, but now it’s falling again and there is more in the forecast, so we will see what happens! In the meantime, I will be working on Guest Hollow projects and soaking up the warmth from our woodstove fire.
Wherever you are, I hope you are warm, cozy, and happy!
