A FREE Literature-Based Unit Study

Science of the Seasons Unit Study is a FREE 14 week cross-curricular unit study for students in 2nd-6th grade (1st graders can possibly tag along with older siblings or have the unit study adapted to their level).

In this unit study we integrate various subjects like arts and crafts, Bible studies, geography, language arts, literature, a little bit of math, and science. Add in a math program and any other subjects your students need to work on (phonics, spelling, grammar, history, etc. – whatever you feel you need to complete your day) and you are good to go!

Rekindle the love of learning!

This unit study is ideal for times when your current curriculum just isn’t working, when your student needs a break from the usual, for summer studies, or simply when you want homeschooling to be enjoyable, stress-free, and to rekindle the love of learning. It’s designed to be easily adaptable for multiple ages, so you can have siblings share the fun!

F.A.Q. for Science of Seasons Unit Study

This curriculum was designed for grades 2-6, but 1st graders can possibly tag-along with older siblings, or you can adapt it.

If you are using this with siblings, we suggest you do a family read-aloud and then allow students to read some of the easier books themselves, if they are able. Younger students may require more assistance and may need you to read the books out loud.

If you have a reluctant writer (or a student who is not yet proficient at writing), you can have him/her dictate things to you instead of writing.

We strongly suggest that you view every item linked or used in this curriculum to make sure it meets with your approval.

The 14 week schedule allows for a gentle introduction to the included topics. It also allows you to see if literature-based learning is a fit for your child without a full-year commitment. It’s a perfect study to jump into in the middle of the year when other things aren’t working and also makes a great summer supplement.

You can keep your files forever, if you save your initial download!

Once you’ve downloaded the schedule and workbook to your computer or device, you are licensed to use the downloaded copy forever. Make sure you download, save, and back up your items immediately after your purchase! You can click directly on the links in the schedule from a computer or other device and can use your materials with younger students years later.

Guest Hollow’s Science of Seasons Curriculum uses a *spine book that is a Christian book.
*A spine book is a book that is used as a backbone of a study that students will use often.

Most of the other scheduled resources are non-religious. There are optional Bible studies that are linked to each week.

If we schedule in a Christian book, we try to give you notice of such in the books and resources page.

Secular families can easily adapt this curriculum to leave out the Christian elements, except when it comes to the spine book. There is a secular version of that book availble here as a free printable.

Christians and non-Christians should preview the scheduled books and all other resources such as videos, etc. to make sure they are compatible with your beliefs, philosophies, and values.

No, you can start it at any time.

After purchasing a curriculum, you’ll see that the item you just bought shows that it is discounted 50% in our store. The reason you are seeing this is because we give you the opportunity to repurchase the schedule and your downloads at a substantial discount before they expire (2 years from date of purchase).

Please note: You do NOT need to repurchase your schedule in order to use the files you originally purchased and downloaded. You can use your downloaded schedule forever and can click on the links just as you can the online version of the schedule. You just won’t have access to any updates after your online access expires.

Why does access expire? Every year we go through all our curriculum schedules and update broken links and/or replace books that have gone out of print. This is a very time-intensive process that keeps our curricula up-to-date. Your repurchase helps fund this process and provides you with a schedule that has all the new additions or changes.
